Our first engagement ring - a shiny, unique piece for a unique love
The story behind JUVELAN's very first engagement ring: For Max's marriage proposal to his Fabiana, we designed an engagement ring in 750 yellow gold with a 0.4ct diamond and two imperial topazes that was completely custom-made to his specifications - and produced this unique piece by hand.
Even though every single custom-made piece is always something very special for us, there are pieces of jewelry that you are guaranteed never to forget. And for us, this clearly includes the very first engagement ring that we were allowed to make in the history of JUVELAN.
THE PROPOSAL
Max and I have known each other for over 10 years, so I didn't think anything of it when he asked for a meeting at the end of October - he had an "important request". At this meeting, he unexpectedly "proposed" to me - which I was delighted to answer with "Yes, I do": To create an engagement ring for his fiancée Fabiana, which would also be the very first engagement ring in the history of Juvelan.
I went to Juvelan with a wish for a unique engagement ring. I was completely overwhelmed as to how my rough idea could be realized. Johan guided me step by step through the creation of the piece of jewelry. He was patient and the most important thing for him was always that it was the way I wanted it. It wasn't a "package" that was sold to me, but everything was discussed in detail so that the ring was exactly what I wanted.
Juvelan exceeded my expectations and when my fiancée saw the ring, she insisted that we also have our wedding rings made by them. (Update on this later for sure)
THANK YOU to Johan and his team! Your incredible way of taking the pressure off such an important and overwhelming decision is the best thing that could have happened to me!
THE DESIGN
Max had a concrete idea of his "dream engagement ring", which should be something very special - and had not yet found what he was looking for. The ring was to feature a diamond set with an imperial topaz on the left and right. This would make it a perfect match for Fabiana's necklace with an imperial topaz pendant.
THE TREASURE HUNT
So the first thing we did was to look for the perfect diamond and matching imperial topazes. At the same time, we thought with Max about what kind of setting we would put the three gemstones in. We quickly decided on a classic, discreet prong setting. This ensures that the stones receive light from all sides and can shine optimally. We chose a warm 750 yellow gold for the alloy, which makes the ring look very harmonious overall in combination with the two imperial topazes and the radiant diamond.
After we received a selection of diamonds and topazes from our gemstone suppliers, Max was able to choose the perfect combination. He opted for a 0.4ct brilliant cut diamond and two beautiful imperial topazes, the perfect size to match. We then determined the final details together and our goldsmith began to shape the ring.
THE FINISHED RING
Shortly before Christmas, I was able to pick up the finished engagement ring and present it to Max - in short, it was an emotional moment for all of us and we were both immediately thrilled with the result. A few weeks later, I received a message from Max: "The ring has worked its magic! DANKEEEE!!!!!"
Dear Max, dear Fabiana - thank you very much for your trust. It was a great honor to be able to create your engagement ring as a custom-made piece. You got the ball rolling and I look forward to turning many more unique engagement rings into reality for our customers in the future.
