Behind the scenes at our last photo shoot | bridal jewelry collection 2018
Before I take you behind the scenes of our photoshoot for our Bridal Jewellery Collection 2018, I have to tell you a little personal story. Every year since elementary school, my parents would let me and my siblings pick a small gift every year if we came home with good results. In the year when I was about nine or ten years old, for some reason, there was only one thing I wanted to have: a bridal Barbie doll. It was not so much the Barbie itself that fascinated me, but the glowing beauty and the happiness that the bridal Barbie showed. Thinking back, I have to admit that that’s the moment my love for everything bridal began and 15 years later I started designing my very first bridal jewelry collection.
Today, 20 years later, it’s safe to say that my “bridal love” has kept on growing. There’s hardly anything more fulfilling than receiving photos from a bride on her wedding day wearing our designs after she got in touch with us to discuss her wedding jewelry. That is why Fredrik and I have been working hard behind the scenes to create a brand new Bridal Jewellery Collection for 2018. It’s our fourth collection, and without spilling the beans, I can say that we went a little outside of our comfort zone with this collection. We’re very pleased with the outcome and cannot wait to show you the final result.
For now, all I can tell you is that you will discover shapes, forms, and sizes that you have never seen in any of the previous collections. My love for the combination of beautifully cut crystals that give the right amount of sparkle for your style, mixed with various freshwater pearls is still very present in the new collection.
For this collection, we had the pleasure of working with an excellent team who made magic happen on set. Bina Terré was our photographer of the day who had the pleasure of having the classic beauty Sophie Veldhuizen in front of her lens. Together with Janine Hohmann who was responsible for the different hair- & makeup looks, the day was priceless. We also had the pleasure of having my sister Liesbeth Vandamme and her friend and assistant Leen De Kort who will be creating a beautiful collection video. A big thank you goes to the lovely Veri from Brautatelier Tara for thoughtfully handpicking and styling the outfits for our shoot.
